Atticus Lazenby Group
The Atticus Lazenby Group formed in Chicago in 2014 as a performance vehicle for bassist/composer Atticus Lazenby’s compositions, through which it has since been exploring the points of intersection where jazz, funk, rock, hip-hop, and world music meet. The sound of the ALGroup layers horn-borne melodies and improvisational volleys over interlocking guitar and keyboard textures and a grooving foundation of bass, drums, and percussion. The ALGroup has performed around Chicago and shared the stage with local and nationally touring acts, including Dynamo and Fat Night. In July 2016, they released their self-titled debut album on Bandcamp and Spotify. They are currently working on material for a forthcoming second album.

The Atticus Lazenby Group consists of:
Atticus Lazenby - bass, compositions
Sam Trump / Drew Hansen - trumpet
Ben Schmidt-Swartz / Corbin Andrick - tenor saxophone
Sam Mösching / Sam Hasting / Jeff Swanson - guitar
Colin Drozdoff - keyboards
Rob Fletcher - drums
Nick Kabat - percussion
Human Bloom
Human Bloom
Human Bloom is a unique experimental Hip-Hop/Jazz band based in Chicago. Many of the songs have a focus on improvisation within the realm of Hip-hop with complicated forms. The band’s primary influences are Flying Lotus, Radiohead, Hiatus Coyote, and Robert Glasper. Fortunately, each of Human Bloom’s band members has their own unique background outside of Hip-hop and Jazz. Genres like Metal, classical, techno, and the avant-garde are all incorporated through each band members’ taste and contribute to the unique sound of Human Bloom.
