American Grizzly
American Grizzly
American Grizzly is a Rock & Roll band of sorts influenced by all things past, present, and future. From tube-screaming "noise rock" to the minimalist approach of rural American folk music, this band transcends any one genre and hits many of the stops along the musical landscape. Pairing well-crafted song writing with tasteful sonic euphoria and sometimes tones that elicit bouts of melancholy, American Grizzly creates music for current times. After years of shaping their craft in basements, garages, bowling alleys, and taverns, American Grizzly has heeded the call for original artistry with recordings and supporting their efforts with live performances. Based in Chicago, Illinois, the band is comprised of Matt Ladd on vocals, Jack Doyle and Dennis Wilson on guitars, Marty Funk on bass, and Owen Yanz on drums.
Cousin Dud
Cousin Dud
Cousin Dud is a rock band out of Chicago, IL. The band was conceived as an acoustic folk act by founding members Matt Carmichael and Josh Burns. After playing many shows as an acoustic duo, they added drummer Ben Sams, saxophonist Pete Geraci, and bassist Dan Schuld. As a result, the band went electric and began integrating more of a rock sound to complement their folk based lyricism. Guitarist and lead vocalist Matt Carmichael acts as the primary songwriter and arranger of the music, and the songs are written about the Midwest and its fine people. Their latest album, Workinggirl's Dud, released in August of 2012, is self-described as a collection of Midwestern spirituals. The band is set to release their next record in early 2014, which will be a louder look at love and loss in America's Heartland.
